Our Successes This Year
- Honored Rachel Carson & the 50th Anniversary of Silent Spring with Carson biographer Linda Lear.
- Held a new wildflower hike series in Vineyard Field with FLPG honorary board member Jim Ash.
- Celebrated our 15th Anniversary at a lovely cocktail party hosted by Nancy & Ron VanderKamp.
- Erected a nature viewing blind at Poxabogue Park with the help of Suffolk County Parks.
- Created Long Pond Greenbelt kiosk information at Mashashimuet Park.
- Implemented a pilot “Learning the Secrets of the Meadow” program with Sagaponack School.
- Published a Long Pond Greenbelt Tree ID Brochure.
- Cosponsored hikes with the South Fork Natural History Museum & a night sky program with the Custer Institute.
- Collaborated with the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum in support of their For the Birds exhibit.
- Supported Southampton Town CPF purchases which added preserved land to the Long Pond Greenbelt
- Gained 45 new FLPG members!
