Wednesday, January 31 – Full Blue Moon Hike. 6:30PM-7:30PM. Join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt and South Fork Natural History Societyon a leisurely-paced hike through open-field trails. Whenever two full Moons appear in a single month, the second is christened a “Blue Moon.” Due to our calendar days, the appearance of a Blue Moon is actually a relatively rare occurrence as one rises on average only once every 2 1/2 to 3 years, however 2018 is unique with two Blue Moons. Meet at the SoFo Museum parking lot, 377 Bridgehampton Turnpike 200 yards north of the RR tracks. Refreshments afterward. Leader: Jean Dodds, 631-599-2391.
